Fire Sprinkler Designer

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

• Design automatic fire suppression sprinkler systems with respect to the current codes and AHJ requirements

• Clean up and prepare drawings implementing architectural, structural and mechanical plans using mainly AutoCAD

• Future advancement could include Revit Modelling and AutoSprink

• Convert as-built drawings from site into AutoCAD drawings for submission

• Layout sprinklers per current standards

• Manage CAD files with respect to company standards

• Attend meetings online as required

• Perform hydraulic calculations using Sprink + Elite Software

Qualifications:

• Mechanical Engineering diploma and/or degree (Candidates with minimal education but with experience in FP are encouraged to apply.)

• 2 years of experience with AutoDesk products

• Proficiency in AutoCAD

• Basic understanding of how systems are installed

• Knowledge of NFPA and BCBC/VBBL standards

• Proficiency in Revit (preferred but not required)

• Experience in fire protection (preferred but not required)

• Construction knowledge (preferred but not required)
